On Screen is a collaborative printmaking project that pairs invited artists with community-based Flint non-profit organizations. The artists create an original image highlighting the work of the non-profit. Then working with printers at Flint's Factory Two, they learn the screen printing process to create a limited edition poster. The posters are then sold at Buckham Gallery, with the proceeds going to the non-profit organization.
Our goal is to complete 6 editions featuring 6 Flint community-based nonprofits by the end of 2021. Ultimately, as COVID-19 allows, BFAP will host a culminating exhibition to reveal the collection of prints. At this time, two have been completed.

Buckham Fine Arts Project launched an internship program for University of Michigan-Flint students in December 2020. BFAP provides a valuable hands-on experience in small non-profit administration and gallery practices.
The Buckham Fine Arts Project, as known as Buckham Gallery, is predominantly known as a visual arts exhibition space in Flint. However it is BFAP’s mission to present high quality contemporary art, both visual and performance, for the enrichment of its surrounding communities. With the launching of the Writer In Residence program, BFAP is looking to tap Flint’s rich spring of contemporary literary arts.
“This residency is specifically designed to engage with writers in our community. It’s an opportunity for literary artists to immerse in their appreciation of visual arts by experiencing the exhibits in the gallery. They then create compositions in response to our exhibitions. This collaboration between Buckham and our literary artist will culminate in a publication featuring their art and images from our exhibitions,” said Buckham’s director, Michele Leclaire.

Since 2019, Buckham Fine Arts Project has provided and installed the artwork on display throughout the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren. This collaboration provides an additional location where artwork by Flint artists may be viewed.
