May 4, 2019- Artist Talk with Stephen Halko and Nick Reszetar
Stephen Halko, MFA
Investigating that which cannot be known, artist and educator Stephen Halko primarily employs figurative forms to construct contemplative works of art. His process utilizes drawing, painting, sculpture, pixels, and pessimism. He participates in solo, group and invitational exhibition formats both nationally and internationally.
Having received a BFA degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, he holds both a Post-Baccalaureate and MFA degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. While at PAFA, he studied Gross Anatomy and human dissection at Hahnemann University Hospital.
Stephen is a full Professor and Chair of the BFA and MFA Drawing programs at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University.
Nick Reszetar, MFA
Nick Reszetar holds degrees in the visual arts from Washtenaw Community College (Photography), Eastern Michigan University (Painting and Drawing), and Kendall College of Art and Design (Drawing). He works primarily in drawing, painting, and photography, and has experience with digital work and installation. Much of his current work focuses on drawing the figure, where he questions psychology, identity and interdependence.
“I am making work about being alive, about being in a physical body, and in that work the body is a metaphor for this larger idea. I am interested in letting the narrative exist through psychological means, something of which the human form is highly capable of.”
Nick is an Artist and Adjunct Professor College for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI.
