Annual Fund: October 2022 - September 2023

Since our founding in 1984, we’ve made it our mission to enrich our surrounding communities by presenting a broad range of innovative contemporary art, visual and non-visual, of the highest quality and standard.

40 years later we are still dedicated to our vision of nurturing and supporting artists, building community and inclusivity, while challenging our audience to engage with art in new ways.

In addition to the visual exhibitions Buckham’s programming includes: BFAP: On Screen, Writer In Residence, Open Mic, Buckham at Karmanos, Internships, and Emerging Artist Fellowship (with UM-Flint).

We are asking for your tax-deductible support.

2023 - 2024 Annual Fund

Dear Friends and Art Lovers,

At the core of Buckham Fine Arts Project and Gallery is the guiding principle of providing opportunities for our community to engage with innovative contemporary art, both visual and non-visual, of the highest quality and standard. Our vision includes supporting and nurturing artists, while challenging our audience to engage with and look at art in new ways.

Why support contemporary art? Artists have so much to tell us about the world and how they experience it and I believe that this offers many glimpses of the way that individual artists are coping and even thriving in a rapidly changing society. By turning inward and creating something new there is a great potential for healing: both for those who make art and those who take the time to experience it.

Buckham fills this need in our community by providing thoughtfully laid out exhibitions that present contemporary art in the most exciting and stimulating way, opportunities to engage artists through in-person and virtual artist talks, topical lectures, and visiting artist collaborations, as well as providing opportunities for the creation of new artworks through our On Screen, Writer In Residence, and Emerging Artist Fellowship programs. Your support makes it possible!

Through these programs, Buckham acts as a thoughtful voice that strives to inspire local art-lovers and to provoke artists, thinkers, and collectors from outside the area to engage with Flint.
