Cider and Slides
A community slideshow night, Cider and Slides is an evening where members of Flint’s creative community give 5-7 minute slideshow presentations. Informal in nature, the slideshows are geared toward sparking discourse and broadening awareness around a diverse range of creative practices in and around the Flint community.
Our first event (2/2020) was an incredible evening of motivating and inspiring creative interactions. Our presenters gave short slideshows on a variety of topics such as collaboration, arts appropriation, chapbooks, Peter Beard, and becoming Caliban. After each presentation, the audience had an opportunity to ask questions and continue the discourse.
We were pleased to offer Cider & Slides, exclusively for our Community Members & Artist Collaborators in November 2021. Our presenters, once again, offered a wide variety of subjects including community poetry placemaking, looking at the overlooked, the Talking Hearts project, intersectionality & creativity, and finally, Richard S. Ranck, who will be featured in our 2022 season.
We are anticipating hosting Cider & Slides again in 2022 for Community Members and Artist Collaborators.
