Observations, Volume 5, is a collaboration between the 2024-2025 Writer In Residence, Vivian Kao, and Buckham Fine Arts Project.
A collection of compositions created for Buckham Fine Arts Project's Writer in Residence including 31 literary works of magic through sonnets, a limerick, an acrostic, even a wujue (a classical Chinese form), as well as some fables and fairytales. -About the Writer In Residence Project-
The Buckham Fine Arts Project’s Writer In Residence (WIR) program started as an outreach project in early 2021 to unite its visual art exhibitions with literary arts and Flint’s Black, Indigenous, People of Color community. The collaboration provides an opportunity for writers to engage with their interest in visual art and gain exposure for their literary work, while engaging Flint’s historically underrepresented and marginalized communities in a meaningful way. Each residency cycle culminates with the compilation of the WIR’s compositions into a publication with exhibition images and public reading.
