Buckham Gallery invites artists to submit work for Secret Spaces, a nationally juried exhibition exploring hidden realms. Secret spaces can be physical locations to rejuvenate, heal, hide, or to share intimate moments. They can be a way to hide in plain sight or simply to not be seen. Maybe it’s in a cave, a treehouse, or under your bed where you hide your secret letters and thoughts. Or is your secret space a part of your personality or body that is kept discretely? A place in the heart where desire hides, a place in the mind where you keep someone or the dark parts of memory, a place where ideas and visions reside. “Secret Spaces” is open to interpretation and media.

Founded in 1984, Buckham Fine Arts Project | Buckham Gallery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the vision to support and nurture artists, build community and inclusivity, while challenging our audience to engage with contemporary art in new ways. In commitment to our vision to support artists, Buckham Gallery will provide a stipend of $50 to each artist selected for this exhibition to aid in shipping costs. We acknowledge this may not cover all costs associated with the transportation of artwork.

Exhibition will be held October 10 - November 1, 2025 at Buckham Gallery, Flint MI.

Details:

• Artists must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the USA.
• Each artist may submit 1- 3 works for $25.
• Media Specifications: 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, and video artworks welcome. 
• All work must be original in concept, no reproductions or AI.
• Shipping Stipend: All artists selected for exhibition will receive $50 
• Submissions must be entered through Buckham Gallery’s website by August 2, 2025.
• Artists will be notified by September 4, 2025.

Fees:

• The entry fee is $25, up to 3 works may be submitted for that fee.
• Submission fee may be paid by credit card or Paypal, and is nonrefundable.

Shipment or In-person Drop-Off:

• Artists are responsible for coordinating all packing, shipping and return shipping of their artwork, or in-person drop-off and pick-up.
• Selected works must be received between September 18 - 26, 2025.
• Stipend checks will be mailed to artists once the work is received and in good condition at Buckham Gallery.
• Buckham Arts Collective members are welcome to apply, fee-free, however will not receive the $50 stipend as intended to assist with the shipping of artwork.

Sales:

• Artwork may be for sale, though not required to be for sale. Artists set retail prices for their work.
• Buckham Gallery retains a 35% commission on sold work.
