Artist’s Statement

The gaps and smudges of our memory is what interests me; the places where reality, perception, and experience converge. Where things are both lost and found through the contemplation of our past, present, and future.

Artist’s Bio

Jeremy McGirl grew up in Colorado, where he received his BFA from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Colorado.  In 1999 Jeremy and his wife, Julie moved to Pennsylvania.  In 2008 he earned his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where he was awarded the Faculty Award and the nomination from the school to be considered for the Joan Mitchell Foundations MFA Grant. Jeremy exhibits his work at galleries in the Philadelphia area while teaching at West Chester University and Delaware County Community College. Jeremy works in his studio in Malvern, PA, where he lives with his wife and two kids.
