For all of recorded human history, we have created images in our likeness, images that act as vessels for our expression of existence and life and humanity. Through our bodies, we interact and experience the world; no wonder the history of art teems with our interpretations of this fragile and wonderful vehicle. As sculptor Leonard Baskin stated: "The human figure is the image of all (people) and of one (person.) It contains all and can express all." Buckham Fine Arts Project welcomes submissions of three dimensional works that depict, reference, or are otherwise inspired by our human form.

Founded in 1984, Buckham Fine Arts Project | Buckham Gallery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the vision to support and nurture artists, build community and inclusivity, while challenging our audience to engage with contemporary art in new ways. In commitment to our vision to support artists, Buckham Gallery will provide a stipend of $50 to each artist selected for this exhibition to aid in shipping costs. We acknowledge this may not cover all costs associated with the shipment and return of artwork.

The Human Form: An Exhibition of Sculptures will be held May 8 - June 13, 2026 at Buckham Gallery in Flint, MI.


Details:

• Artists must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the USA.
• Each artist may submit 1- 3 works for $25.
• Media Specifications: three dimensional works that depict, reference, or are otherwise inspired by the human form
• All work must be original in concept, no reproductions or AI.
• Shipping Stipend: All artists selected for exhibition will receive $50 
• Submissions must be entered through Buckham Gallery’s website by March 18, 2026.
• Artists will be notified by April 4, 2026.

*** It has come to our attention that the google form is requiring artists to sign into their accounts in order to upload images. This is a change from past forms and we are unable to disable this feature. It would be easiest to create a free gmail/google account to submit. However, if this is not an option for you, please contact Michele at [email protected] for alternate instructions. We thank you in advance for your patience as this will take longer.

Fees:

• The entry fee is $25, up to 3 works may be submitted for that fee.
• Submission fee may be paid by credit card or PayPal, and is nonrefundable.
• A link to complete the submission fee will appear in the confirmation message once the submission form is submitted.

Shipment or In-person Drop-Off:

• Artists are responsible for coordinating all packing, shipping and return shipping of their artwork, or in-person drop-off and pick-up.
• Selected works must be received between April 29 - May 3, 2026.
• Stipend checks will be mailed to artists once the work is received and in good condition at Buckham Gallery, within five business days of the exhibition opening.
• Buckham Arts Collective members are welcome to apply, fee-free, however will not receive the $50 stipend as intended to assist with the shipping of artwork.

Sales:

• Artwork may be for sale, though not required to be for sale. Artists set retail prices for their work.
• Buckham Gallery retains a 35% commission on sold work, with 65% of the retail price for the Artists.
• Buckham Gallery will cover credit card processing fees.
