Whether it's shelter from the storm, where your heart is, or a place you can never go back, our homes inspire reflection. Buckham gallery invites submissions of artwork (2D, 3D, and other media) that describes, depicts or responds to the home. Domestic spaces can be considered prisons, shelters, or just a place to hang a hat. Buckham welcomes differing, creative, and unique interpretations on the theme.

Founded in 1984, Buckham Fine Arts Project | Buckham Gallery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the vision to support and nurture artists, build community and inclusivity, while challenging our audience to engage with contemporary art in new ways. In commitment to our vision to support artists, Buckham Gallery will provide a stipend of $50 to each artist selected for this exhibition to aid in shipping costs. We acknowledge this may not cover all costs associated with the shipment and return of artwork.

The Homeward exhibition will be held July 10 - August 14, 2026 at Buckham Gallery in Flint, MI.


Details:

• All media accepted and the theme is open to interpretation.
• Artist must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the USA
• Each artist may submit 1 - 3 works for $25
• Open Media: 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, and video artworks welcome!
• All work must be original in concept, NO reproductions or AI created works.
• Shipping Stipend: All artists selected for exhibition will receive $50 
• Submissions must be entered through Buckham Gallery’s website by May 2, 2026.
• Artists will be notified by May 16, 2026.

Fees:

• The entry fee is $25, up to 3 works may be submitted for that fee
• Submission fee may be paid by credit card or Paypal, and is nonrefundable.
• A link to complete the submission fee will appear in the confirmation message once the submission form is submitted.

Shipment or In-person Drop-Off:

• Artists are responsible for coordinating all packing, shipping and return shipping of their artwork, or in-person drop-off and pick-up.
• Selected works must be received between  June 12 - 19, 2026.
• Stipend checks will be mailed to artists once the work is received and in good condition at Buckham Gallery, within five business days of the exhibition opening.
• Buckham Arts Collective members are welcome to apply, fee-free, however will not receive the $50 stipend as intended to assist with the shipping of artwork.

Sales:

• Artwork may be for sale, though not required to be for sale. Artists set retail prices for their work.
• Buckham Gallery retains a 35% commission on sold work, 65% of the retail price for the Artists.
• Buckham Gallery will cover credit card processing fees from their commission.
