We are pleased to announce the three prize winners of our February 2020 exhbition, Eros and Thanatos.
1st: “Call Me Papi,” Oil paint and mixed media on paper, by Gerardo Castro of New York
2nd: “Memento Mori, Poe’s “Berenice”, mixed media assemblage, by Brandin Baron of California
3rd: “Red Echo,” a graphite and acrylic drawing, by Larry D. Butcher of Michigan
Juror, Ed Fraga, spent two hours with the installation on February 14th, contemplating the works and grappling with the difficult decision of only selecting three winners. He was impressed by the overall quality of all the work. Guiding factors in his decision included the use of theme, especially both sides of the dichotomy, mastery of skill, and interesting use of materials.
Congratulations to the winners and all of the artists selected for this exhibit. It was truly a great show.
