$50 Shipping Stipend for ALL Selected Artists

Buckham Gallery invites artists to submit work for our newest Call for Entry, entitled Small Works. Often, large artworks dominate and attract the attention of the art world because of their instant impact. However, smaller artworks are powerful in a more quiet way; they draw viewers in for a close, intimate experience and prove that something small can make a big impression. 

Small Works is a national open call for visual art of any traditional or non-traditional media. Original works of art no larger than 12” in any dimension are eligible for this exhibition. All subjects, themes, media, and approaches will be considered. Standard presentation devices such as mats and frames are limited by the 12" criteria. 

Founded in 1984, Buckham Fine Arts Project | Buckham Gallery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the vision to support and nurture artists, build community and inclusivity, while challenging our audience to engage with contemporary art in new ways. In commitment to our vision to support artists, Buckham Gallery will provide a stipend of $50 to each artist selected for this exhibition to aid in shipping costs. We acknowledge this may not cover all costs associated with the shipment and return of artwork.

Small Works exhibition will be held June 13 - July 12, 2025 at Buckham Gallery, Flint MI.

Details:

• Artists must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the USA.
• Each artist may submit 1- 3 works for $25.
• Media Specifications: 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional are welcome. 
• All work must be original in concept, no reproductions or AI.
• Shipping Stipend: All artists selected for exhibition will receive $50 
• Submissions must be entered through Buckham Gallery’s website by April 14, 2025.
• Artists will be notified by May 10, 2025.

Fees:

• The entry fee is $25, up to 3 works may be submitted for that fee.
• Submission fee may be paid by credit card or Paypal, and is nonrefundable.

Shipment or In-person Drop-Off:

• Artists are responsible for coordinating all packing, shipping and return shipping of their artwork, or in-person drop-off and pick-up.
• Selected works must be received between June 4 - 7, 2025.
• Stipend checks will be mailed to artists once the work is received and in good condition at Buckham Gallery.
• Buckham Arts Collective members are welcome to apply, fee-free, however will not receive the $50 stipend as intended to assist with the shipping of artwork.

Sales:

• Artwork may be for sale, though not required to be for sale. Artists set retail prices for their work.
• Buckham Gallery retains a 35% commission on sold work.
