Build Your Own Collection
We get very excited about ART over here at Buckham Gallery. And we know how important it is to consider the proper presentation and support for protecting ART for its longevity. While not every work of ART needs to be framed, let’s consider what a frame does for an Artwork.
Frames often complete the presentation of a painting, hiding the sometimes messy edges, setting it off, and helping it stand out from others on the wall. Frames also provide protection from bumps and scratches that could occur during transport and handling. Works on paper almost always need to be framed to protect them from moisture, dirt, and bugs, you know – unforeseen events and circumstances.
Nonprofit arts organizations are much like works of ART. They can be bright and colorful and invoke powerful emotional responses in those they interact with. They can also have messy edges or delicate surfaces that need to be protected. The members and community that support the nonprofit act just like a frame protecting that work of ART.
The VERY important frames Buckham has supporting this nonprofit – and specifically this fundraising event, Build Your Own Collection – are our SPONSORS! Please join us in recognizing our B.Y.O.C. Frames:
Gold Frame: Cristen Velliky
Silver Frames: Guy Adamec, Kay & Michael Kelly, DJ Trela & David Bailey
Maple Frame: Kirstie & Roy Richard, Art School @ FIA
Thank you to all the individuals and organizations who support Buckham Fine Arts Project and Gallery, including:
Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, and Greater Flint Arts Council Share Art Genesee Grant program made possible by the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage Funds. Your tax dollars are at work!
