FLINT (WJRT) – (10/14/16) – “Art can call attention to a crisis like no other media can” – that’s what Flint artists are hoping to do with an “edgy” show Friday night at Buckham Fine Art Gallery.
It’s all centered around Flint’s water emergency.
The gallery is packed full with pieces from as far away as Boston.
Each artist has a different take on the crisis – from politics to public health – but they’re all sure to stir up emotion.
“Some of the best art throughout history has been in response to a crisis situation. It’s just a way to bring consciousness to our environment,” said Guy Adamec, fire master at the Flint Institute of Art.
The show will run through Nov. 6.
A percentage of all sales will benefit the Flint Child Health and Development Fund.
